Puntuación

A publishing platform that competes with Substack on newsletters and WordPress on blogging. Strong technical credibility and clean design, but the page tries to win both audiences simultaneously and fully converts neither.

Problema de mayor impacto

Ghost's killer feature is native memberships and paid subscriptions with 0% revenue share (vs Substack's 10%). For a newsletter creator doing $10K/month, that's $1,000/month saved. The financial argument is devastating and should be the headline for the newsletter-comparison audience — but it shares space with CMS features that dilute the punch.

Fundadores reales, ajustes reales
We wanted the website to feel more trustworthy and easier to understand for first-time visitors. Landing Doctors identified exactly where people were dropping off and gave us simple improvements that made a surprisingly big impact.

The audit gave us a clearer structure for the homepage. Helpful overall — not every suggestion fit our brand voice, but most did.

Lo que esta página hace bien

3 aciertos
Zero platform revenue share on paid subscriptions — genuinely differentiated against Substack and Patreon.
Open-source codebase builds trust with technical creators who want data ownership.
Clean, fast-loading default themes outperform most WordPress setups without optimization.

Hallazgos (3)

Antes
(dual-positioning hero — "publishing platform" addressing both bloggers and newsletter creators)
Problema

Trying to be the WordPress alternative and the Substack alternative in the same hero dilutes both pitches. Bloggers need CMS features; newsletter creators need subscriber management and payment processing. Leading with both means neither audience sees their specific problem solved first.

Reescritura
Segment the entry: newsletter creators see "Publish, grow, and monetize your newsletter — 0% revenue share, full subscriber ownership." Bloggers see "A modern publishing platform — fast, clean, open source."
Por qué funciona

Audience-specific landing paths convert higher because each visitor immediately sees their use case validated. A combined hero forces both audiences to parse irrelevant information before finding relevance.

Hallazgo #02evidenciaAlto impacto
Antes
(open-source credibility emphasized without revenue-outcome proof for paid newsletters)
Problema

Technical credibility (open source, Node.js, clean API) resonates with developers but not with the highest-value segment: newsletter creators evaluating Ghost vs Substack. That segment wants evidence of subscriber growth and revenue, not GitHub stars.

Reescritura
Add creator-revenue proof: "Creators on Ghost earn $X/month in paid subscriptions — keeping 100% minus Stripe's processing fee. Compare that to 10% platform cuts elsewhere."
Por qué funciona

Revenue proof speaks directly to the economic comparison driving the Substack-to-Ghost switch. Technical proof validates the platform; financial proof validates the business decision.

Hallazgo #03objecionesMedio
Antes
(self-hosted option prominent but managed-hosting pricing unclear until deep in the flow)
Problema

Ghost's pricing page must serve two very different buyers: self-hosters who pay $0 and managed-hosting customers who pay $9-199/month. Mixing both in one flow creates confusion — self-hosters feel the managed pricing is pushed on them; managed buyers worry the product is really meant to be self-hosted.

Reescritura
Split the paths clearly: "Host it yourself (free, open source, full control)" vs "Ghost Pro (we host it, $9/mo, zero maintenance)." Make both feel first-class.
Por qué funciona

Clean path separation respects both segments. Self-hosters who feel respected recommend Ghost; managed buyers who see a dedicated product feel supported rather than like an afterthought.
