74/100
Score

Strong brand trust and developer familiarity, but the Okta acquisition has blurred the homepage identity. The page now serves two masters — developer auth and enterprise IAM — and sharpens neither.

See methodology →
Highest-impact issue

Post-Okta, the homepage tries to serve indie developers and enterprise CISO buyers on the same page. The developer who wants "npm install and go" sees enterprise sales language; the CISO sees a developer tool. Neither audience gets a clean first impression.

Real founders, real fixes
The report was short and practical. The CTA advice was probably the most useful part — rewrote the button copy and inquiries went up the same week.

What this page does well

4 strengths
Brand recognition in the auth space is effectively a moat — developers default to Auth0.
Quickstart guides for 30+ frameworks visible from navigation — reduces integration objection.
Free tier with generous limits is clearly positioned.
SDK code samples in the hero area signal developer-first DNA.

Findings (2)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01clarityHigh-impact
Was
(unknown current hero — generic auth pattern)
Problem

The hero attempts to serve both developer-auth and enterprise-IAM positioning. "Identity platform" is accurate but not actionable — it doesn't tell a developer what they can build in 10 minutes, or a CISO what compliance box it checks.

Fix
Auth0 by Okta: Add login to your app in 15 minutes. Enterprise SSO, MFA, and compliance — when you need it.
Why this works

Leads with the developer promise (15-minute integration) and follows with the enterprise expansion path. Serves both audiences in sequence instead of blending them into mush.

Finding #02form frictionMedium
Was
(sign-up requires email + password before seeing the dashboard)
Problem

Developers evaluating auth tools want to see the dashboard and SDK before committing an email. A signup wall before any product exposure increases bounce for comparison shoppers.

Fix
Add a "Try the dashboard" sandbox link that loads a pre-configured demo tenant — no signup required.
Why this works

Lets the evaluator experience the product before the commitment. The signup becomes a conversion of an already-convinced user, not a gate.

About this teardown

Is this a paid hit-piece or sponsored?
No. We have no affiliation with Auth0 and were not paid by anyone. This is independent third-party commentary based on the public landing page at audit time.
Did you contact Auth0 before publishing?
No. These teardowns analyze public marketing pages — the same way any reviewer would analyze a published book. We use only what is publicly accessible on the live URL.
Will my own audit look like this?
Yes — same 12-dimension framework, same finding format (was → problem → fix → why). Your report is private to you and based on your live page copy.
