Score

A proxy-buying service that unlocks Japanese marketplaces for international shoppers. The service is genuinely useful and the integrations are deep, but the page overexplains the proxy mechanic while underexplaining the emotional payoff: access to products you literally cannot buy from outside Japan.

Highest-impact issue

Buyee's real sell is exclusivity access -- Japan-only products (limited sneakers, anime figures, vintage denim, rare electronics) that international buyers cannot purchase directly. The page leads with logistics mechanics ("we buy, we store, we ship") instead of the desire trigger ("get what you can't get anywhere else").

Real founders, real fixes
It gave a very thorough audit, and I made the recommended changes, so we'll see how they work out. My only complaint is the price. $49 bucks per page audit adds up quickly. Might I suggest a membership site where you charge a monthly f…

The audit was useful overall and gave us a few good ideas for improving clarity on the homepage. Some suggestions felt a bit generic, but the CTA and headline recommendations definitely helped.

What this page does well

3 strengths
Deep integrations with Yahoo! Auctions, Mercari, Rakuma, and ZOZOTOWN cover the major JP sources.
Package consolidation and inspection photos reduce cross-border anxiety.
Multi-language support (EN, ZH, ID, KR) genuinely lowers the access barrier for non-Japanese shoppers.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01value propHigh-impact
Was
(proxy-service mechanic explanation as hero -- "how it works" before "why you want it")
Problem

Leading with "Step 1: Search, Step 2: We buy, Step 3: We ship" sells the plumbing, not the destination. The visitor already knows they want a Japanese product -- they need to see that Buyee is the fastest path to getting it, not a tutorial on proxy logistics.

Fix
Japan's best products, shipped to your door. Shop Yahoo! Auctions, Mercari, ZOZOTOWN, and 30+ Japanese stores -- we handle buying, packing, and shipping to 100+ countries.
Why this works

Leading with the access promise (Japan's best products) and the breadth (30+ stores, 100+ countries) creates desire before the how-it-works explanation, which becomes supporting detail rather than the pitch.

Finding #02trustHigh-impact
Was
(service-fee structure spread across multiple pages without upfront transparency)
Problem

Proxy buying involves service fees, domestic shipping, consolidation fees, and international shipping -- a fee stack that can surprise buyers at checkout. When total cost is opaque, high-value purchases (vintage watches, limited sneakers) feel too risky to commit.

Fix
Show a fee estimator above the fold: "Service fee: 300 yen per item. Shipping: estimate from weight and destination. No hidden charges -- see your total before you commit."
Why this works

A visible fee calculator converts high-value buyers by removing cost uncertainty -- the #1 anxiety in proxy purchasing, where surprises at the shipping stage cause cart abandonment.

Finding #03social proofMedium
Was
(marketplace partner logos shown without user testimonials or transaction volume)
Problem

Partner logos (Yahoo! Auctions, Mercari) prove integration breadth but not delivery reliability. The international buyer's core fear is "will my item actually arrive safely?" -- a question that logos do not answer.

Fix
Add delivery proof: "5M+ packages shipped worldwide. 99.X% safe-delivery rate. See buyer reviews on Trustpilot."
Why this works

Delivery-success metrics directly address the cross-border reliability fear and convert buyers who trust the product source but not the shipping intermediary.
