A GTM AI workflow platform that pivoted from copywriting to sales and marketing automation. The ambition is real, but the homepage tries to be an AI copywriter and an enterprise workflow engine simultaneously — and neither message lands clearly.

Highest-impact issue

Copy.ai's pivot to GTM workflow automation (prospecting, enrichment, outreach sequencing) is a genuinely different product than the AI copywriter most visitors remember. The page needs to decide which buyer it is talking to — the solo marketer who wants ad copy, or the RevOps team who wants pipeline automation — because serving both in one hero serves neither.

Real founders, real fixes
It gave a very thorough audit, and I made the recommended changes, so we'll see how they work out. My only complaint is the price. $49 bucks per page audit adds up quickly. Might I suggest a membership site where you charge a monthly f…

Landing Doctors pointed out a few issues we had overlooked, especially around messaging structure. Not every recommendation fit our brand, but the report was still helpful and easy to apply.

What this page does well

3 strengths
Workflow builder for multi-step GTM tasks (enrich lead, draft sequence, personalize) is genuinely more than a text generator.
Free tier with meaningful usage lets evaluators test real workflows before committing.
Integrations with CRMs and sales tools position the product inside existing revenue stacks.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01clarityCritical
Was
(dual-identity hero — AI copywriter branding meets enterprise workflow pitch)
Problem

A visitor arriving from an old "AI copywriting" reference sees GTM workflows they do not understand. A RevOps buyer sees a brand name ("Copy.ai") that signals text generation, not pipeline automation. Neither audience gets a clear first-screen match.

Fix
Pick the wedge for the hero and segment the other below: "Automate your go-to-market — from lead enrichment to personalized outreach — in one AI workflow. Looking for quick copy? Start here."
Why this works

A clear primary audience in the hero with a visible secondary path prevents the identity confusion that makes both segments bounce.

Finding #02offer specificityHigh-impact
Was
(free tier prominent but workflow-credit limits opaque until deep in settings)
Problem

Free users who build a multi-step workflow and hit an invisible credit wall mid-run feel baited. The friction is not the limit itself — it is discovering the limit after investing setup time.

Fix
State the free boundary upfront: "Free: 200 workflow runs/month. Pro: unlimited runs, premium integrations, team seats."
Why this works

Transparent limits set expectations and frame the upgrade as a capacity unlock rather than a paywall ambush, which preserves trust through the trial.

Finding #03social proofMedium
Was
(user count badge without segmentation by use case)
Problem

A large user count inherited from the copywriting era inflates the number but dilutes relevance for the new GTM buyer. "15M+ users" sounds like consumer hobbyists, not revenue teams.

Fix
Segment the proof: "Used by 4,000+ revenue teams to automate prospecting and outreach. Trusted by sales orgs at [named companies]."
Why this works

Use-case-specific proof resonates with the target buyer; aggregate vanity metrics attract the wrong audience and set wrong expectations.
