IndependentNot affiliated·Public methodology
74/100
Score

The dominant collaborative design tool with near-universal adoption among product teams. The hero increasingly leads with breadth (design + dev mode + slides + AI) instead of the singular collaboration advantage that won the market.

See methodology →
Highest-impact issue

Figma won because designers and developers work in the same file, in real time, in a browser. That "Google Docs for design" simplicity is the moat — but the hero now pitches a product suite (Figma Design, FigJam, Dev Mode, Slides) that reads like an Adobe product page. The collaboration story is assumed, not stated.

Real founders, real fixes
Landing Doctors pointed out a few issues we had overlooked, especially around messaging structure. Not every recommendation fit our brand, but the report was still helpful and easy to apply.

Our website looked premium visually, but Landing Doctors showed us why visitors still weren't converting. Their recommendations improved clarity, trust, and flow across the entire page. The difference after implementation was immediate…

What this page does well

3 strengths
Browser-based with no install — genuinely zero-friction evaluation for any team member.
Real-time multiplayer is the category-defining feature that competitors still cannot fully replicate.
Community file library provides immediate value for new signups exploring the tool.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01clarityHigh-impact
Was
(product-suite hero listing Design + FigJam + Dev Mode + Slides with equal weight)
Problem

When the hero gives equal prominence to four products, a first-time visitor cannot tell which one they need. A product manager evaluating FigJam sees design tool messaging; a developer looking at Dev Mode sees whiteboarding. The breadth that serves existing users confuses new evaluators.

Fix
Lead with the wedge: "Design together, in real time. Figma is where your whole product team — designers, developers, PMs — builds in one file."
Why this works

The collaboration story is what converts new teams. Individual products (Slides, FigJam) are upsells discovered after adoption. Leading with the wedge re-centers the hero on the reason Figma won the market.

Finding #02offer specificityHigh-impact
Was
(free tier exists but scope and limitations not visible from the hero)
Problem

Figma's free tier is generous (3 projects, unlimited personal files) but invisible from the homepage. Visitors comparing Figma to Sketch or Adobe XD assume "free" means a 7-day trial. The strongest conversion lever — "start designing now, pay later" — goes unstated.

Fix
Surface it: "Free for up to 3 team projects. No trial expiration — design as long as you need."
Why this works

A permanent free tier is a competitive weapon against Sketch (paid upfront) and Adobe (subscription-only). Stating "no trial expiration" converts evaluators who fear being paywalled mid-project.

Finding #03trustMedium
Was
(no enterprise adoption metrics or scale signals in the hero area)
Problem

Figma is used by nearly every major tech company, but the hero doesn't surface this. A design director at a Fortune 500 evaluating Figma for a 200-person team needs enterprise-scale proof — not just a clean landing page.

Fix
Add a proof line: "Used by product teams at every major tech company. Millions of designers build in Figma every week."
Why this works

Scale signals eliminate the "is this production-ready for a large org?" objection. Figma has the adoption data — surfacing it converts the enterprise evaluator who needs internal buy-in ammunition.
