68/100
Score

Strong open-source positioning with a clear developer audience, but the hero tries to serve both self-hosters and cloud buyers simultaneously and dilutes both messages.

See methodology →
Highest-impact issue

The hero splits attention between self-hosted and cloud audiences. Developers who want self-hosted need different proof than ops teams evaluating managed cloud. Serving both in one viewport serves neither.

Real founders, real fixes
We followed the Landing Doctors recommendations before relaunching ads and the difference was obvious. Better messaging, stronger CTA placement, and less visual clutter made the page convert much more effectively.

We improved a few headlines and reorganized sections. The page feels more focused now and visitors actually read past the hero section.

What this page does well

3 strengths
Open-source badge and GitHub stars prominently displayed -- instant credibility with developer audience.
Self-host option clearly named -- differentiates from Zapier/Make immediately.
Workflow template gallery is rich and searchable -- reduces time-to-first-value perception.

Findings (2)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01clarityHigh-impact
Was
(unknown current hero -- generic workflow automation pattern)
Problem

The hero attempts to address both self-hosted developers and cloud-managed teams in one line. Neither audience sees themselves clearly. The developer who wants `docker compose up` and the ops lead evaluating a managed service have different buying criteria.

Fix
Workflow automation you can self-host. 400+ integrations, your infrastructure, zero vendor lock-in.
Why this works

Leads with the differentiator (self-host), quantifies integrations, and names the fear (vendor lock-in). Cloud buyers get a secondary CTA path; the hero owns the open-source position.

Finding #02objectionsMedium
Was
(no visible comparison against Zapier/Make in the hero section)
Problem

n8n's primary traffic comes from "Zapier alternative" searches. Visitors arrive pre-loaded with a comparison frame. The page does not acknowledge this context, forcing the visitor to scroll to a comparison table that may not exist.

Fix
Add a one-line objection handler below the hero: "Everything Zapier does -- on your servers, with your data, at a fraction of the cost."
Why this works

Meets the visitor's mental model (comparing against Zapier), names the three advantages (self-hosted, data ownership, cost), and removes the need to scroll for differentiation.
