65/100
Score

A domain registrar with genuinely competitive renewal pricing that differentiates it from GoDaddy's intro-bait model. The homepage tries to sell domains, hosting, email, and VPN simultaneously — diluting the one advantage that actually wins switchers.

Highest-impact issue

Namecheap's real moat is transparent renewal pricing — the intro price and the renewal price are close, unlike GoDaddy where renewals can triple. That trust-building fact belongs in the hero, not buried in a pricing comparison page that most visitors never reach.

Real founders, real fixes
The audit was very thorough and provided helpful information to work on. We have already implemented a few. Definitely worth it.

Landing Doctor delivers as promised, and more! I don't often leave 5 star reviews, but this one is truly deserved. The report came through fast and it is an almost clinical assessment with clear steps on how to fix issues. So far, this…

What this page does well

3 strengths
Renewal pricing transparency is genuinely differentiated in a category built on intro-bait.
Free WhoisGuard privacy on every domain removes a common upsell annoyance.
Search-first hero lets visitors check domain availability immediately — action-oriented entry.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01clarityCritical
Was
(multi-product hero — domains, hosting, email, VPN all pitched in the first viewport)
Problem

Selling four product lines in the hero forces the visitor to self-sort before understanding any single value proposition. A visitor who searched "buy domain name" sees hosting and VPN competing for attention, creating noise that delays the core transaction.

Fix
Your domain. Honest pricing that doesn't double at renewal. Search now — WhoisGuard privacy included free.
Why this works

Leads with the product (domain), the differentiator (no renewal bait), and the bonus (free privacy). Other products can live below the fold where cross-sell works without diluting the entry point.

Finding #02trustHigh-impact
Was
(intro price displayed prominently without renewal-price context)
Problem

Even though Namecheap's renewals are reasonable, showing only the intro price follows the same visual pattern as competitors who triple the rate. Visitors assume the worst because the category has trained them to. The honest pricing advantage is invisible.

Fix
Show both prices on every listing: "Register: $8.88/yr — Renews: $12.98/yr." Add a comparison callout: "Our renewal is the price. Not the surprise."
Why this works

Displaying the renewal rate voluntarily is the single highest-trust signal in the domain category. It converts the visitor's trained skepticism into a differentiator no competitor can match without changing their business model.

Finding #03objectionsMedium
Was
(no explicit migration path or transfer-in messaging above the fold)
Problem

Most domain buyers already own domains elsewhere. The page speaks to first-time registrations but ignores the transfer-in audience — people who want to leave GoDaddy but fear the transfer process will break their email or DNS.

Fix
Add a transfer strip: "Transferring from GoDaddy? Zero downtime. We handle DNS migration — your site and email keep working."
Why this works

Naming the incumbent and neutralizing the migration fear captures the highest-intent segment: people who already decided to leave but need reassurance that switching is safe.
