Northflank

Independent infrastructure landing-page teardown using our public 12-dimension framework. Apply the findings to your own page in under 30 minutes.

47/100
Score

Ambitious platform with genuine technical depth, but the homepage reads like a feature specification rather than a conversion page. The buyer drowns in capabilities before understanding the core value.

See methodology →
Highest-impact issue

Northflank lists every feature (builds, deploys, databases, jobs, add-ons) without establishing a single compelling reason to choose it. The page answers "what can it do?" exhaustively but never answers "why should I care?" concisely.

Real founders, real fixes
The audit gave us a clearer structure for the homepage. Helpful overall — not every suggestion fit our brand voice, but most did.

We followed the Landing Doctors recommendations before relaunching ads and the difference was obvious. Better messaging, stronger CTA placement, and less visual clutter made the page convert much more effectively.

What this page does well

3 strengths
Kubernetes abstraction positioning appeals to teams who want K8s power without K8s complexity.
Bring-your-own-cloud option is a genuine enterprise differentiator.
API-first approach is well-documented for platform engineering teams.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01clarityCritical
Was
(unknown current hero — feature-list platform pattern)
Problem

The hero attempts to communicate the entire product surface in one viewport. Builds, deploys, databases, jobs, cron, add-ons — the visitor processes none of them because cognitive load exceeds the 5-second attention window. Feature completeness kills clarity when it arrives before context.

Fix
Kubernetes power without the YAML. Deploy, scale, and manage everything from one dashboard — or our API.
Why this works

Names the pain (Kubernetes YAML complexity), the solution (one dashboard/API), and the scope (everything). The feature list can live below the fold where interested visitors actively seek depth.

Finding #02CTAHigh-impact
Was
(multiple CTAs for different product paths — deploy, bring-your-cloud, API)
Problem

Three or more CTAs in the hero viewport create decision paralysis. The visitor who cannot decide which button to click defaults to clicking none. For a less-known brand, every moment of hesitation is a bounce risk.

Fix
Single primary CTA: "Deploy your first service free →" with secondary text: "Or bring your own AWS/GCP account"
Why this works

One primary path with a subordinate option preserves the BYOC differentiator without splitting the hero's conversion funnel. The free anchor lowers commitment anxiety.

Finding #03page speedMedium
Was
(heavy hero section with animations and interactive elements)
Problem

Infrastructure buyers evaluate platforms partly on technical taste. A slow-loading marketing page sends an implicit signal about the platform's own performance standards. When your product is "fast deploys," your page must demonstrate that philosophy.

Fix
Strip hero animations to static screenshots. Target sub-1.5s LCP on 4G connections.
Why this works

For developer tools, the marketing page is the first product experience. A fast page earns implicit trust that the infrastructure behind it is equally performant.

No. We have no affiliation with Northflank and were not paid by anyone. This is independent third-party commentary based on the public landing page at audit time.
Did you contact Northflank before publishing?
No. These teardowns analyze public marketing pages — the same way any reviewer would analyze a published book. We use only what is publicly accessible on the live URL.
Will my own audit look like this?
Yes — same 12-dimension framework, same finding format (was → problem → fix → why). Your report is private to you and based on your live page copy.
