70/100
Score

A digital business bank account built specifically for small businesses and freelancers. Clear audience focus and transparent fee structure. The page communicates "banking without the bank" well but undersells the integrations and automation that make Novo more than just a checking account.

See methodology →
Highest-impact issue

Novo's real differentiator is not "free business banking" — several neobanks offer that. It is the tight integrations with Shopify, Stripe, QuickBooks, and other small-business tools that turn the bank account into a financial hub. That "your bank account talks to your other tools" story is absent from the hero, leaving Novo competing on fees alone against Mercury, Bluevine, and traditional banks.

Real founders, real fixes
Landing Doctors nos ayudó a entender por qué la página se veía bonita pero no convertía bien. Cambiamos la estructura, el mensaje principal y varios bloques importantes. Todo se siente mucho más claro y profesional ahora.

What this page does well

3 strengths
No minimum balance, no hidden fees, no monthly maintenance charge — the pricing transparency is genuinely best-in-class for business banking.
FDIC insurance through Middlesex Federal Savings is stated clearly, addressing the neobank trust objection directly.
Invoice and reserve features built into the banking app address cash-flow management without requiring a separate tool.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01value propHigh-impact
Was
(free business banking hero — fee-focused positioning without naming the integration advantage)
Problem

Leading with "free" and "no fees" puts Novo in a price comparison against every other free business bank. The integrations (auto-categorizing Stripe payouts, syncing with QuickBooks, tracking Shopify revenue) are the features that create switching costs and long-term retention — but they appear below the fold as feature bullets, not as the headline value.

Fix
A business bank account that talks to your tools. Novo connects to Stripe, Shopify, QuickBooks, and more — so your cash flow updates itself.
Why this works

Positions Novo as a financial hub rather than a commodity checking account. The integrations create a moat that "free banking" does not — and they address the pain that actually motivates switching: manual reconciliation between bank and business tools.

Finding #02trustHigh-impact
Was
(neobank positioning without prominent FDIC and banking-partner visibility in the hero)
Problem

Business owners are more cautious about where they keep operating cash than personal funds. A neobank without immediate, visible FDIC and banking-partner signals triggers the "is my money safe?" objection before the visitor processes any feature messaging. The trust gap costs conversion at the top of the funnel.

Fix
Place FDIC insurance and the banking partner name directly beneath the hero CTA: "Your deposits are FDIC-insured up to $250,000 through Middlesex Federal Savings."
Why this works

FDIC in the hero answers the safety question before it becomes an objection. Business owners who see the insurance confirmation proceed to evaluate features; those who do not see it leave to check reviews or choose a traditional bank.

Finding #03social proofMedium
Was
(customer count or business-type examples without revenue-scale context)
Problem

A freelancer and a 20-person agency have different banking needs. An aggregate user count does not help either visitor determine whether Novo serves businesses like theirs. Without segment-specific proof, the visitor assumes Novo is for someone else.

Fix
Add segment proof: "Trusted by freelancers, agencies, and e-commerce sellers. Average new account holder manages $35K in monthly cash flow."
Why this works

Naming specific business types lets visitors self-identify. The cash-flow figure sets expectations — it signals that Novo is for real operating businesses, not hobbyists, without excluding smaller accounts.
