46/100
Score

A Korea-origin discount marketplace popular with young Japanese women for K-beauty and fashion deals. The price appeal is real, but the page is a wall of flash sales with no hierarchy, no trust anchors, and no explanation of why these prices are lower.

See methodology →
Highest-impact issue

Qoo10's advantage is direct-from-Korea sourcing for K-beauty, skincare, and fashion at prices Japanese department stores and Amazon cannot match. That supply-chain explanation ("direct from Korean brands, no middleman markup") would justify the low prices. Without it, cheap just looks suspicious.

Real founders, real fixes
We had good traffic but weak conversions. Landing Doctors explained the problems clearly and showed us exactly what to improve. The revised structure, stronger headlines, and CTA recommendations made the page far easier to understand.…

What this page does well

3 strengths
Daily deal mechanics (Mega Wari, TimeSale) create genuine urgency with visible countdown timers.
K-beauty and Korean fashion curation taps a specific, high-intent audience segment in Japan.
Coupon stacking and point rewards drive repeat purchase behavior.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01trustCritical
Was
(discount-wall layout -- dense grid of time-limited deals without sourcing or quality context)
Problem

A page of aggressively low prices with no explanation of why they are low triggers counterfeit and quality concerns. Japanese consumers are particularly quality-sensitive; a deal that looks "too cheap" without sourcing context gets dismissed as fake or grey-market.

Fix
Anchor the pricing: "Direct from Korean brands to you -- no import middlemen. Authentic products, Qoo10 buyer protection on every order."
Why this works

Explaining the supply-chain reason for low prices (direct sourcing, no middleman) converts suspicious browsers by reframing "cheap" as "efficient" -- the same logic Costco uses.

Finding #02clarityCritical
Was
(homepage as dense coupon/sale aggregation page -- no single value statement or navigation hierarchy)
Problem

The page reads as a flyer, not a platform. Rotating banners, coupon strips, flash-sale grids, ranking lists, and category tiles all compete at equal visual weight. A first-time visitor cannot answer "what is this site and why should I shop here" from the first screen.

Fix
Add a single orientation line above the deal grid: "Japan's go-to for Korean beauty and fashion -- up to 70% off with direct brand sourcing. New deals every hour."
Why this works

One positioning sentence transforms a chaotic deal page into a destination with a reason to exist, giving the visitor a mental model before they parse the grid.

Finding #03objectionsHigh-impact
Was
(cross-border shipping timelines and customs handling not surfaced until checkout)
Problem

Korean-sourced products shipped to Japan involve customs and variable delivery times. Hiding this until checkout creates abandonment when the visitor discovers a 7-14 day wait after expecting next-day delivery.

Fix
Show shipping context per product category: "K-beauty: ships from Korea, 3-7 days. Domestic items: next-day eligible." Badge products by origin.
Why this works

Setting delivery expectations early prevents checkout surprise abandonment and builds trust with buyers who are willing to wait when they know upfront.
