Score

The undisputed CRM market leader with the broadest product suite in enterprise software. But the homepage tries to sell the entire cloud portfolio at once, making a first-time SMB visitor feel like they wandered into an aircraft hangar looking for a bicycle.

Highest-impact issue

Salesforce's homepage serves investors, enterprise procurement teams, and a small business owner searching "CRM for my team" — all with the same hero. The SMB founder, who represents the highest-volume acquisition segment, bounces because nothing on the first screen says "this is for a team your size, at a price you can afford."

Real founders, real fixes

What this page does well

3 strengths
Brand trust is unmatched — "nobody gets fired for buying Salesforce" still holds in enterprise.
AppExchange ecosystem gives genuine extensibility that competitors cannot match.
Trailhead learning platform is a real onboarding asset that reduces time-to-value for new admins.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01clarityCritical
Was
(mega-platform hero — "AI + CRM + Data + Trust" pattern listing pillars instead of a concrete job-to-be-done)
Problem

Listing platform pillars (AI, CRM, Data, Trust) is internal product-org language, not buyer language. A sales manager with 8 reps doesn't think in pillars — they think "I need to see my pipeline and stop deals from slipping." The hero speaks Salesforce's language, not the buyer's.

Fix
See every deal in your pipeline. Know which ones will close and which need help — before your forecast meeting.
Why this works

Names the buyer (sales leader), the job (pipeline visibility), and the moment of truth (forecast meeting). Concrete enough for the SMB buyer, recognizable enough for enterprise.

Finding #02offer specificityHigh-impact
Was
(product catalog navigation in the hero zone with 10+ cloud products visible)
Problem

Exposing the full product catalog (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Platform, MuleSoft, Tableau...) in the hero area creates a paradox of choice. The SMB visitor who needs CRM sees 10 products and assumes Salesforce is too complex and too expensive.

Fix
Add a guided entry: "Just need CRM? Start with Sales Cloud — $25/user/month, set up in a day."
Why this works

A named product, a price, and a time-to-value claim gives the SMB buyer a tractable entry point. The rest of the portfolio reveals itself post-signup, not pre-signup.

Finding #03social proofMedium
Was
(enterprise customer logos without SMB representation or size-diverse proof)
Problem

Showing only Fortune 500 logos confirms the enterprise positioning but alienates the 10-person team evaluating CRM for the first time. The logo wall says "this is for companies with procurement departments" — which is exactly the wrong message for the growth-stage buyer.

Fix
Add a size-segmented proof line: "From 2-person startups to the Fortune 500 — 150,000+ companies run on Salesforce."
Why this works

Naming the low end (2-person startups) alongside the Fortune 500 tells the small buyer they belong. The aggregate number adds volume credibility across the full spectrum.

About this teardown

Is this a paid hit-piece or sponsored?
No. We have no affiliation with Salesforce and were not paid by anyone. This is independent third-party commentary based on the public landing page at audit time.
Did you contact Salesforce before publishing?
No. These teardowns analyze public marketing pages — the same way any reviewer would analyze a published book. We use only what is publicly accessible on the live URL.
Will my own audit look like this?
Yes — same 12-dimension framework, same finding format (was → problem → fix → why). Your report is private to you and based on your live page copy.

Independent third-party commentary. Not affiliated with Salesforce. All quotes taken verbatim from salesforce.com at audit time. Scores reflect the page as analyzed against our public methodology — not the company, product, or revenue. Corrections: audits@landingdoctors.com.
