Strapi

85/100
Score

Open-source headless CMS with the clearest developer positioning in the category. The hero names the audience and the model (open source) without flinching. Minor gaps in enterprise proof and urgency.

Highest-impact issue

Strapi's enterprise tier is growing but the landing page still reads like a developer side-project pitch. Companies evaluating Strapi for a 50-person content team need enterprise signals (SLA, support, compliance) above the fold.

Real founders, real fixes
Very comprehensive audit with clear next steps.

Not everything applied to our business, but several recommendations were genuinely helpful. Would have liked more fitness-specific examples.

What this page does well

5 strengths
Open-source positioning is unambiguous and immediate -- no corporate hedging.
GitHub stars and npm downloads are displayed as social proof -- credible to developers.
Self-hosted and cloud options are both visible -- matches the buyer's infrastructure preference.
Plugin marketplace demonstrates extensibility without requiring custom dev work.
Documentation quality is visible from navigation -- strong developer trust signal.

Findings (2)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01trustHigh-impact
Was
(enterprise features mentioned but no enterprise customer logos or case studies above the fold)
Problem

Strapi is competing for enterprise CMS budgets against Contentful and Adobe Experience Manager. The landing page's developer-community aesthetic works for individual evaluators but actively hurts enterprise procurement. A VP of Engineering needs to see peer companies, not GitHub stars.

Fix
Add an enterprise proof band above the fold: "Trusted by IBM, Toyota, and NASA for production content infrastructure." (or equivalent named enterprise customers).
Why this works

Enterprise buyers need peer validation to justify a procurement decision. GitHub stars prove community love; named logos prove production readiness. Both are needed.

Finding #02urgencyMedium
Was
(no urgency mechanism -- page reads as a permanent informational brochure)
Problem

Open-source tools are perpetually "free to try later." Without a time anchor, developers star the repo and revisit in 6 months. The page does nothing to compress the evaluation timeline.

Fix
Deploy a Strapi instance in 60 seconds -- one command, zero config.
Why this works

Time-anchors ("60 seconds, one command") make "later" feel unnecessary. The zero-config claim removes the setup objection that makes developers postpone.

About this teardown

Is this a paid hit-piece or sponsored?
No. We have no affiliation with Strapi and were not paid by anyone. This is independent third-party commentary based on the public landing page at audit time.
Did you contact Strapi before publishing?
No. These teardowns analyze public marketing pages — the same way any reviewer would analyze a published book. We use only what is publicly accessible on the live URL.
Will my own audit look like this?
Yes — same 12-dimension framework, same finding format (was → problem → fix → why). Your report is private to you and based on your live page copy.
