54/100
Score

A local-services marketplace with strong IKEA partnership distribution. The homepage splits messaging between "hire a Tasker" and "become a Tasker" — a two-sided marketplace problem that dilutes conversion for both audiences.

See methodology →
Highest-impact issue

TaskRabbit's primary conversion audience is the customer who needs help today — furniture assembly, moving, handyman work. But the hero shares real estate with Tasker recruitment messaging, and neither side gets a compelling pitch. The "I need help now" urgency that drives same-day bookings is absent from the hero.

Real founders, real fixes
Not everything applied to our business, but several recommendations were genuinely helpful. Would have liked more fitness-specific examples.

The audit gave us a clearer structure for the homepage. Helpful overall — not every suggestion fit our brand voice, but most did.

What this page does well

3 strengths
IKEA partnership is a powerful trust signal — "recommended by IKEA" carries weight for furniture-assembly seekers.
Same-day availability is a genuine differentiator over traditional handyman services.
Task categories are clearly organized — visitors can self-select by job type quickly.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01clarityCritical
Was
(two-sided marketplace hero — customer and Tasker messaging competing in the same viewport)
Problem

A homeowner who needs furniture assembled today and a gig worker looking for jobs see the same hero. Neither audience gets a clear, dedicated pitch. Two-sided marketplace homepages must pick a primary audience for the hero — the demand side (customers) drives the supply side, not the other way around.

Fix
Lead with the customer: "Get it done today. Hire a background-checked Tasker for furniture assembly, moving, handyman work, and 50+ tasks."
Why this works

The customer hero drives bookings; bookings attract Taskers. A "Become a Tasker" link in the nav serves the supply side without competing for hero real estate. Demand-side heroes are standard practice for marketplace conversion.

Finding #02trustHigh-impact
Was
(no safety or vetting signals visible in the hero — background checks, insurance, reviews)
Problem

Inviting a stranger into your home is an inherently trust-loaded decision. The hero doesn't mention background checks, insurance, or the review system. A homeowner comparing TaskRabbit to asking a friend for a referral needs safety proof to choose the marketplace option.

Fix
Surface trust in the hero: "Every Tasker is background-checked and reviewed. Your booking is covered by our Happiness Pledge."
Why this works

Safety signals in the hero convert the "I'd rather ask a friend" objector by making the marketplace option feel safer than the informal alternative. Background checks are table stakes — but only if visitors know about them.

Finding #03urgencyMedium
Was
(no same-day availability or speed signals in the hero)
Problem

TaskRabbit's strongest conversion trigger is "I need this done today." The hero doesn't communicate same-day availability, response time, or booking speed. A visitor with an urgent need (broken appliance, IKEA delivery arriving in 2 hours) doesn't know TaskRabbit can help right now.

Fix
Add: "Taskers available today. Book in 5 minutes — most jobs start within hours."
Why this works

Speed signals convert urgent buyers who would otherwise call a local handyman. "Available today" + "start within hours" addresses the immediacy need that drives TaskRabbit's highest-value bookings.
