Score

A wholesale marketplace that eliminates transaction fees for retailers — a genuinely rare model. The zero-fee wedge is the entire story, but the homepage buries it under generic marketplace language that could describe any B2B platform.

See methodology →
Highest-impact issue

Tundra charges zero transaction fees to retailers and makes money from brands paying for placement. This is the single most differentiated fact in wholesale e-commerce — and it deserves to be the headline, not a bullet point. Without it, Tundra looks like Faire with fewer brands.

Real founders, real fixes
The advice was straightforward and easy to implement without redesigning everything. Big fan of the prioritized fix list — knew exactly where to start.

What this page does well

3 strengths
Zero transaction fees for retailers is a genuine structural advantage that Faire and other marketplaces do not match.
No minimum order quantities on many products lower the barrier for small independent retailers to test new brands.
Free shipping thresholds per brand are clearly communicated, reducing cart surprise.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01value propCritical
Was
(generic wholesale marketplace hero — "discover brands" positioning without fee-model differentiation)
Problem

The hero reads like any wholesale marketplace: discover brands, order products, grow your store. This generic positioning forces Tundra to compete on catalog size — a fight it loses to Faire. The zero-fee model is the only message that reframes the comparison entirely, and it goes unnamed in the first screen.

Fix
Zero transaction fees. Every dollar of margin stays yours. Browse 1,500+ brands, order wholesale, pay nothing to Tundra — ever.
Why this works

The zero-fee claim immediately differentiates from Faire (which charges 25% to brands, passed through as higher wholesale prices). Naming the structural advantage converts the homepage from a category page into a positioning statement.

Finding #02objectionsHigh-impact
Was
(brand catalog size not compared to dominant competitor)
Problem

Retailers evaluating Tundra immediately compare catalog breadth to Faire. If Tundra has fewer brands, the visitor assumes less selection. Without framing the catalog as curated or explaining why fewer brands is a feature (lower fees = better margin), the size gap is a silent conversion killer.

Fix
Reframe the catalog: "1,500+ brands with zero markups from platform fees. On fee-based platforms, brands raise wholesale prices to cover 25% commissions. On Tundra, you get the real wholesale price."
Why this works

Connecting catalog size to price integrity turns the smaller catalog from a weakness into a trust signal. The retailer understands that fewer brands at true wholesale beats more brands at inflated wholesale.

Finding #03trustMedium
Was
(business model explained in FAQ rather than on the homepage)
Problem

Zero fees raises the "what's the catch" question. If the business model explanation lives only in the FAQ, skeptical retailers bounce before finding it. The trust gap is the same pattern as free-tier SaaS: transparency converts, mystery repels.

Fix
Explain the model on the homepage: "Brands pay for visibility on Tundra. Retailers never pay fees — no commissions, no subscriptions, no markups. That's how we keep wholesale prices real."
Why this works

Business-model transparency on the homepage preempts the skepticism that zero-fee claims generate. A visible explanation converts doubt into understanding in the first scroll.
