Wish

Independent e-commerce landing-page teardown using our public 12-dimension framework. Apply the findings to your own page in under 30 minutes.

53/100
Score

A platform in active trust-rebuild mode after years of meme-level quality complaints. The pivot to verified merchants is real but the page still carries the visual DNA of its old "anything goes" era.

Highest-impact issue

Wish's survival depends on convincing burned buyers and skeptical newcomers that the platform has changed. The current page looks and feels nearly identical to the 2021 version that earned its reputation. The rebrand needs to be visible, not just structural.

Real founders, real fixes
The report was short and practical. The CTA advice was probably the most useful part — rewrote the button copy and inquiries went up the same week.

We improved a few headlines and reorganized sections. The page feels more focused now and visitors actually read past the hero section.

What this page does well

3 strengths
Wish Verified program with quality guarantees is a genuine improvement over the old model.
Price remains extremely competitive on impulse goods and accessories.
Mobile-native design with swipe-friendly product discovery.

Findings (3)

Was → problem → fix → why

Each finding cites the live copy at audit time, names the conversion problem, proposes a specific rewrite, and explains why the rewrite works against the 12-dimension framework.

Finding #01trustCritical
Was
(discount-heavy feed — visual similarity to the pre-rebrand platform)
Problem

Wish earned its trust deficit through years of expectation-vs-reality mismatches. The current page still leads with the same ultra-low prices and deal-stack UI that defined that era. Burned visitors see no visual signal that anything has changed and leave within seconds.

Fix
Lead the hero with the change: "Wish, rebuilt. Verified merchants only. Quality-checked before it ships. Not the Wish you remember." Make the rebrand impossible to miss.
Why this works

When trust is the binding constraint, the page must explicitly address the objection rather than hoping new features speak for themselves. Acknowledging the past earns more credibility than ignoring it.

Finding #02social proofHigh-impact
Was
(review system present but credibility tainted by platform reputation)
Problem

Reviews on Wish carry less weight than on other platforms because the platform's reputation casts doubt on all social proof. 5 stars on Wish reads differently than 5 stars on Amazon, and the page does nothing to address this credibility gap.

Fix
Introduce "Wish Verified Review" badges with photo-required reviews from confirmed-delivery orders. Surface these separately from legacy reviews.
Why this works

Creating a visually distinct tier of verified reviews lets the new quality standard build its own credibility without being dragged down by legacy proof that carries the old reputation.

Finding #03objectionsMedium
Was
(shipping times not prominently displayed at browse level)
Problem

"Ordered in March, arrived in June" is a core Wish meme. Even if shipping has improved, the absence of clear delivery timelines at the browse level lets the old expectation fill the gap.

Fix
Show estimated delivery date on every product card: "Arrives Jul 28 - Aug 2" in the same visual weight as the price.
Why this works

Concrete delivery dates pre-empt the shipping-time objection at the exact moment it forms, before the buyer decides the platform hasn't changed.

Did you contact Wish before publishing?

Will my own audit look like this?
Yes — same 12-dimension framework, same finding format (was → problem → fix → why). Your report is private to you and based on your live page copy.
